Albert V. Messina, M.D. has been a board
certified radiologist since 1973. After obtaining his medical degree
from Downstate Medical Center in New York he completed his internship
at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu , Hawaii . In 1969 Dr.
Messina began his residency in radiology at the New York Hospital-Cornell
University Medical Center followed by fellowship in neuroradiology.
From 1972-1973, he was an assistant professor of radiology at The
New York Hospital Cornell Medical University Medical Center and
at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. From 1978-1987 Dr Messina
was the Director of the Department of Radiology at St Francis Hospital
on Long Island and during the 1980s was an associate director at
Beth Israel Medical Center-North (Doctor's Hospital) and the New
York Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Messina has written extensively
on many areas of radiology and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed
publications. Dr. Messina is one of the founding partners of Park
Avenue Radiologists, PC and was a pioneer in bringing MRI and CT
Imaging into private medical practice in the New York area. |

John Melnick, M.D. is a board-certified and fellowship-trained radiologist who joined Park Avenue Radiologists in 2004. He earned his medical degree from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, obtained residency training at North Shore University Hospital, and completed his fellowship in Abdominal and Pelvic Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he held the title of the Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Medical School. His fellowship training included non-vascular interventional radiology and a focus in PET/CT imaging. Dr. Melnick now holds a title of Clinical Instructor at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and is also engaged in teaching and administration at New York University, where he is the Medical Director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Dr. Melnick's current interests are in oncologic imaging utilizing MRI, CT, and PET/CT technology.

Paul B. Rolen, M.D. is a board certified radiologist, earning both a Certificate of Added Qualification and Senior Membership in the American Society of Neuroradiology. A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Rolen completed residency training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and fellowship training in Neuroradiology and MRI at Yale University. Dr. Rolen has additional graduate degrees, including a Masters Degree in Neurobiology. Prior to joining Park Avenue Radiologists in 2007, Dr. Rolen had extensive experience in private practice radiology throughout the tri-state area. He has also taught and held academic positions in neuroradiology at numerous hospitals and universities, including Yale, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, and Purdue University. Dr. Rolen has published and spoken extensively on a wide range of neuroradiology subjects, and he has broad research experience in the discipline. |

Dr. Grace Yang is
a board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with special
certification in Cytopathology, and a Fellow of the International
Academy of Cytopathology. Dr. Yang completed a pathology residency
at New York University and Cytopathology fellowship at the University
of Pennsylvania . In March of 1994, she and a Cytopathology fellow
developed the Ultrafast Papanicolaou Stain (UFP), a 90-second high
resolution stain for cells. Since November 1994, Dr Yang has been
coming to Park Avenue Radiologists to provide immediate diagnosis
to patients having ultrasound or CT-guided fine needle aspiration
(FNA) biopsies using her UFP method of diagnosis. Dr. Yang is a
Professor of Pathology at NYU and has authored approximately 70
peer reviewed publications, mainly on FNA. Her book manuscript,
coauthored with Dr. Liang-Che Tao, entitled "Transabdominal
Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy, 2nd edition" is in review. |
